Book in French — English title: Digital Debate: A Medium for Democratic Renewal
This book is the result of the encounter between a crisis of democracy and the digital age. It sets out the design of a digital debate assisted by an artificial intelligence which, without intervening in the discussions, is intended to help debaters think, so that they can take part effectively in public debate, and thereby to breathe new life into democracy.
Innovative in its unprecedented use of category theory for the mathematical formalism of debate, this work is equally so in its recourse to hypostases. These are logical tools that both structure the thinking of the debaters and the algorithms of the artificial intelligence, and make it possible to supervise the latter.
It is the outcome of an effort to rationalise thought, its content and the tools that serve it, while preserving a place for art, as evidenced by the illustrations that punctuate it and question rationality.

An emeritus director of research at the CNRS, he conducts research in artificial intelligence on the logic and practice of scientific discovery.
Véronique Pinet
Agrégée in philosophy and a teacher, she works on the ethical, rational and experimental aspects of digital debate.
Dominique Luzeaux
A graduate of the École polytechnique, accredited to supervise research (HDR) and an ingénieur général de l'armement, he is interested in the formalisation of socio-technical systems and complex processes, alongside his responsibilities in the digital field.
Sylvaine Jenny
A committed artist, she unfolds her mischievous, poetic or grave worlds in tune with the events that inspire her.
